Head is already in Nebraska being ported, and I'm dropping my block off tomorrow to get it bored and the pistons fitted. I've got most everything, all that's left is to order a cam and a set of Cox rockers. Oh yeah, and figure out how to pay for all of it.

How much are the porting and boring gonna set you back? I plan on porting the head on my friend's 225, but haven't really thought about boring it out (which I'd most definately have done for me).

This one is only gonna be +.045". I have standard bore forged 2.2 flat tops this time. As far as the porting goes, if I tell ya I have to kill ya.

Hey Bagel My engine is up at Gary Bruners. Were boring it 100/thousands over 198 rods and Cox Brother custom Venoila forged pistons the bigger camshaft can't give the details . This should be a juice engine if we need it. Gary is doing the head work Hope you bring enuff hosspower next year. Ps guess who won footbrake today at our local drag strip yep you got it . D'OH! I know I can do the porting myself on my friend's 225, but I'm just not sure if I wanna take the time to do it, what with having to redo the pistons and rings and whatnot when it's down. I don't think she can have that much downtime.

Hey can anyone tell me if I can safely use the stock pistons with a turbo? I'd like to use them, but if I absolutely have to go low compression pistons, I'll do that when I tear the engine down, just to save myself another teardown after it's converted to EFI.

Stock pistons will hold up well, IF you keep it out of detonation.

That way you said "IF" makes me think there's a narrow window for setting the timing on an EFI'd 225

It'll have electronic ignition by the time I convert too...

I gotta admit Possum, Becky makes me a lot more nervous than you ever will. However, if you're putting up the dough, I'll run her anywhere we happen to be together. There is one thing that she is that you will never be. FAST!  :? :D
