I do not see a hole on the back of my alternator that is labeled GND or GROUND or anything. I believe I have located the ground part labeled with a red arrow on the 2 pics below:   Does this look correct? There was already a screw in the port. This is a later year ND alternator. Is there a method I can use to test if this is in fact the ground port on the alternator? I do not want to fry anything! |

Check electrical continuity between that screw and case of alternator. If tester beeps, lights up, or otherwise signals that those points are electrical the same, it is a grounding point. |

Usually those Denso alternators have a battery ground cable connected to the small stud at the top right of your pictures. I've never seen anything connected to that screw on the case. Then you have the battery/B+ stud (dark brown), & the 2 small field coil studs (tan). That's all. What are you trying to connect/ground to that screw? |

Yes, I know how to hook up the b+ and 2 field wires.What are you trying to connect/ground to that screw? I was trying to find the correct grounding point so I can ground some things to the alternator. I'm making a ground loop. It looks like that screw is a grounding point too according to the multimeter. |

you can put your ground wires where you want, but, the factory grounding point is one of those studs on the alternator frame- on the right & the bottom right of your pictures |

Yep...after you first said that I verified it with the original wiring that came off the alternator from the junkyard. I'll just put the ground on one of those bolts. Thanks! |
