Uploaded with ImageShack.us some sort of steel rod, thats flexable. there is one in the first freeze plug and one in th erear freeze plug. I have never seen anything like this in an engine.. what does it serve? I would like to know b4 I button up w/new brass freeze plugs |

Casting core anchor wires. They don't really hurt anything but eventually they'll rust away and the rust will be in your cooling system. Remove them. Grab with Vise-Grips and twist the Vise-Grips until the wires break off at both ends, then yank 'em out. |
