Just cleaning some old oil pans I had laying around. One of them looks like it will fit the early "A" body. For reference, www.dutra.org/pictures/engine/parts/oilpans.jpg
The pan looks like the middle one on the right, the "369" pan, But the numbers are "26?" last digit not readable, due to the pan having been hit. The oil drain plug is located more toward the rear of the sump. Just trying to help the data base.

Post subject:  Later F-Body Oil Pan

Thanks for the pan number Charlie,
I call those later F-body oil pans the "small sump universal pan" just because they will fit into a lot of different chassis. It is a good pan to keep on the "back-up engine" because in my case, I never know which car that engine may end-up in.

Watch the front driver's side corner on this pan when using it on an early A-body, it will hit the K-frame on hard acceleration. I just dent that corner in a bit and it clears. Also note that the rear section is a little deeper so it is tight with the shallow 60-65 A-Body SL6 centerlink, the V8 centerlink clears it.

Don't have to worry about the center link in my Cuda. The car was a 273 car from the factory. When I got it, there was a 360 under the hood. I always did things different, so I did the opposite of most people. Instead of replacing a six with an eight, I pulled the 360, and installed a 170 slant six. The 360 still sits on the engine stand, brand new rebuild.

Post subject:  66 Centerlink

Funny thing is that all 66 A-Bodies I see have the "deep" V8 centerlink, even the SL6 cars.
I guess Mopar figured-out it was cheaper to just carry the one part, seeing there is no reason why the V8 centerlink can not be use on the SL6 cars.

The engine and trans, had been in one of my 65 Valiants. That being the case I had the correct engine brackets and mounts. In the 60 to 66 "A" bodys the "K" member is the same for a six or an eight, so that didn't need changing. In my case, it was a bolt in change over.
According to the Chrysler chassis modification book 1982. you need "K" member 2925932 for a 1969 "B" body 6 cyl. Engine brackets 2532277 and 2806479. Insulators 2658283 and 2806476. It would be best if you could find a slant powered 69 "B" body parts car. This would also give you the oil pan and pickup, if you need them
