lost 2 u-joints in about 10 miles.first time reved to 2000 rpm and broke hold down bolts,second time drove and went to stop engaged clutch and thru u-joint cap.car is built hyperpac,3spd.with 71/4 diff.the combo i have ran for about 8-9 years just freshened motor.only changes made now is 8 point roll bar.maybe stiffened chassis too much for diff,couldn't find heavy dudy hold downs for the diff bolts are too small.or thinking crack in yoke.any thoughts are apprieciated.thanks |

If you don't put the snap rings on the caps they will come out from under the straps on the yoke. The straps do stretch. You can buy new straps and bolts readily and inexpensively. The chassis stiffening is probably coincidental. |
