the silver coating that i thought was polished steel on the wheel is coming off and reveling a black base. i cleaned them with one of those "orange action" cleaners. crap, what is that topcoat and how can i restore the original finish? |

You probably know by now it's paint. The Mopar restoration suppliers like Year One and Paddock will carry the correct color. Ford dealerships used to carry Argent Silver in a rattle can that was a perfect match, don't know if they still have it. Some parts stores carry wheel silver in a rattle can, it may be a close match. what, you dont think butterscotch wheels would look bitchin? ok, you guys have talked me down, i thought i was gonna have to search the world for some discountinued mopar product. the rest of the wheels look pretty good for being 30 years old. |

Rustolium Dual Aluminum rattle can paint is close. It was a perfect match for the argent on the trunk lid trim panels on my 68 Barracuda |
