| Post subject: | Early unibody rockers - what are they like? |
Hi All, Anybody know what the rocker/frame rail/sill construction (cross section I suppose) is like on a '60 fullsize? Or failing that, on any other early Mopar unibodies (I guess the structure will be similar, designed at the same time)? They have a few small rust holes (I could patch them) here and there but I'd really like to pull the rocker covers off altogether and do the job properly. But before I go doing anything it'd be nice to know how complicated the insides are. I know modern cars have 3/4/5/6 layers of different bits of steel, but what about our old Mopars? Does the rocker panel make three sides of a simple box section? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. All the best, 60 Ply. |
