Finally got rid of the flat spot in my hot rod . Passing anything was a pain in the rear and meant I had to slingshot past everything . I had the same problem with a single , two barrel and the 4 barrel Holley . Finally hit on this combo . Holley 390 #31 shooter #54 idle mixture screws Fires right up and no longer bogs I need to play with it some more to see if this is the perfect combo but it works very nicely as is . The idle mixture screws are out 2 full turns , so I may need to do some tweaking yet but I seem to be on track . Hard to start when warm , fires in a sec when cold - one stab of the pedal and siimply turn the ignition on and it will fire without any pedal feathering or pumping . |

Welcome to the forum, WC53. You may copy your post text and put it in a new thread in the 'engine' section, there are many slantsixers running a Holley 390, and I am sure they are interested in this info. The reason for suggesting that you move it, is that it will be easier to find it in a search limited to the engine section. The Slixer's Gallery is mainly used for pics of your car, so get out your camera and let us have the pleasure of viewing a photo of your hot rod!  Olaf. |
