this is a Holley single barrel carb list 2536
from storage. I took it apart to inspect/clean and found this screw stripped, I notice what I thought was a strange lock washer but realized it was a piece of some tefolon tape around the screw, it was lose, not function correctly
can an over size screw be installed or is this just parts only.
thanks

You may be able to retap the threads. Use the correct size tap and carefully chase the threads. Use a bottoming tap. It will be flat on the end not pointed. You can grind the tip down on a fluted tap. be carefully not to force tap in . This may repair the damaged threads ,if they are not too bad.. If not try putting some JB weld in the damaged threads and retap. May be easier to go to next size larger screw to repair. Go slow when retaping threads.

well, being inside the float area, I would wonder if that would work.
