Post subject:  83 truck engine into 64 car help

I have a 83 truck slant six I'm putting into my 64 dart and I have already swapped oil pans and all the brackets needed to fit my car and transmission except for the flex plate. I have one of the bushings from Doc for the old trans to new engine but I'm not sure on which flexplate to use.

I have my original 64 904 flexplate and a 83 904 flexplate and the 64 flexplate won't fit the 83 motor right or atleast it doesnt seem to. Do I need to enlarge the 64 flex plate center hole so it will sit flush on the crank like it did on the 64 engine or can I just use the 83 flex plate?

Thanks guys this is the only thing holding me up on completing my first ever engine swap and I would love to get it finished ASAP so I can start on other aspects of the car.

83 flexplate will work fine. Good work on getting the bushing from Doc for the converter pilot...

Just my luck..... my dad got rid of the 83 flexplate..... figures.... I guess I can bore the center hole on the 64 flexplate so it will slip on.
