| Post subject: | 83 truck engine into 64 car help |
I have a 83 truck slant six I'm putting into my 64 dart and I have already swapped oil pans and all the brackets needed to fit my car and transmission except for the flex plate. I have one of the bushings from Doc for the old trans to new engine but I'm not sure on which flexplate to use. I have my original 64 904 flexplate and a 83 904 flexplate and the 64 flexplate won't fit the 83 motor right or atleast it doesnt seem to. Do I need to enlarge the 64 flex plate center hole so it will sit flush on the crank like it did on the 64 engine or can I just use the 83 flex plate? Thanks guys this is the only thing holding me up on completing my first ever engine swap and I would love to get it finished ASAP so I can start on other aspects of the car. |

Lou Just my luck..... my dad got rid of the 83 flexplate..... figures.... I guess I can bore the center hole on the 64 flexplate so it will slip on. |
