Does the crankshaft guide hub on the converter vary in size or change over the years? I thought all 225 904's had a 1:55 inch guide hub on the converter. Am I wrong? |

Yes early engines (crankshaft) had a smaller centering hole in them, later cranks had a larger hole. That is why I run a stock converter in my Dart. Richard |

Howdy Richard! Good to hear from you. So if I have a converter made, they have to know first how many splines on the input shaft and the year of the crankshaft...yes? |

That sounds correct, early trans had smaller input shafts, later ones had larger input shafts. The crank could be used from a newer (say mid-70's) that would have the larger hole in the end of it and if it's from an older mid/earlier-60's will have smaller hole in the end. Richard |

I think 1967 was last year of small end crank. |
