I've seen pictures of it, never seen one on a car.

Looked to me to be more for show. The added plenum volume would make tuning a nightmare I'd think.

dustertech2000, if I understand correct, you mean the one that places the carb higher and offset on a long, curved runner, and not a normal, vertical spacer?

Slantzilla said it; a nightmare!

Intake manifold heat is needed to make a drivable and economical engine, even with the carb placed in the normal position right over the plenum chamber. Using the Offy long runner ram adapter will probably make it easier for the intake mix to condensate on the runner walls. One reason is, that the intake mix volume, and therefore also it's speed, will be very much lower than with a big V8, which it was designed for.

On the positive side, you will most likely meet a lot of interesting people every time you pop open the hood to try to adjust your carb on that fancy looking intake! :D

i have the clifford short ram intake that has the coolant heater built into the bottomw so it helps with atomization, yes i'm talking about the high offset one. As far as tuning goes i use a wide band 02 sensor with my laptop, (can get everything dialed in perfect just takes some time).
Here is the link to the adapter.

that thing is pretty useless... lol

the stock style manifolds are bad enough... why add another step?

By what measure? It's difficult to think of an intake manifold for a carbureted inline-6 that's better in fundamental design than the "bunch of bananas" stock style intake.

something similar to the hurricane but with less of a corner under the carb...

Er…what? I seem to have lost the thread. You said the stock manifolds suck. I said "How?" You said "Something similar to the hurricane." I'm still waiting to hear how the stock manifolds suck.

lol you were talking about bannana's lol...

what i ment is that a stock style has the 90* turn the A/F has to make once out of the carb. with that ram adapter thing it would have to do that twice, im think the charge will greatly slow and have some serious fuel puddling issues...
