Hi guys... Let me first introduce myself...recent transplant from BC to NC. I work in a brewery, and when I was a kid we had a 74 Valiant that I loved. I needed a commuter, and couldn't resist an old 62 D100. I've been lurking around here for a while... The PO stuck a different trans in the truck, and bodged a hole in the tunnel way back. I have short legs, and the seat interferes with the shifter, so I'd like to rectify the situation. The linkage for the original 3 on the tree shifter is in place, but doesn't seem to fit with the Hurst which is in the truck now. Can you gentlemen (and ladies) identify the trans that is in there? And can you tell me what I should be looking for to either stick an original trans, or get a 4 speed in, with the shifter in the correct space? https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/m ... directlink There are a few photos in the folder... Thanks! Dan Flounderguts www.motherearthbrewing.com |

Welcome Dan,I live in Apex,NC and am building an 87 D-100 for my son. I looked at your photo and if there is more than one I could not figure out how to view it. I have a friend here who is really good with Mopars and can rebuild trans. He has done two for me. If I could see more photos of trans or info on trans he may be able to identify it for you. By the way I have not tasted your beer yet but read an article written in a local paper talking about the brewery before it was opened and the vision of the owners. They are a father and son correct? Any way welcome and this is a good site for these old Mopars. I personally am a Dodge/Cummins guy but love the old Slant also. Let me know if I can be of any help. I am about and hours drive from you. Apex is next door to Raleigh. If you ever come to Raleigh for beer promotions let me know and we can get together. I love micro brew beer and am looking forward to tasting your product. |

Hey guys, glad you've heard about us here in Kinston. The owners are a father and son-in-law (a small distinction) I don't usually have time for the beer dinners, but if I do a festival in around the Triangle area, I'll let you know! Brewgrass is coming up this weekend, but I drew the short straw and have to stay here futzing with the bottler. I'm pretty the tranny is an A-745, but I've gotta get a look at the top. I lost the left front wheel bearing today, so that has to be my first task! As for the hurricane, it was definitely my first NC hurricane, but I've been through them in the Turks and Caicos, Florida, Texas, and typhoons in Japan and the Phillipenes. I'm glad the tree missed my truck! flounder |

See the tree behind the truck in the picture? During Irene, the tree came down in front of the truck (about 120 feet ahead) and those 4 wheel drums lock up easy from 40 mph. Do the math. I figure I was lucky to be in the ditch instead of under the tree! Pulled it out with a little Nissan 720. Flounder |
