Any tips? Looks like they are spotwelded, as opposed to being bolted on, as is the case w/ my D100. Thanks, Joe |

Not really sure why they would be. Maybe there's a bolt somewhere you missed? Also they used some kind of weather striping on the fenders to reduce rattle. After 40+ years it kind of looks like glue and works like it. A rubber mallet works to knock the fender loose. Also there's a stud inside the fender below the A-pillar. |

Where is it tight? The fenders should unbolt and not be welded in place. Not sure about your year but the earlier A bodies have a bolt/Stud at the far rear of the fender that has to be unbolted, up from the bottom with the door open, or with the splash shield removed and go up under the fender. Give us a little more detail. Rick |

That's how i've done it to. an dmake repaires on the doors too. Apparently it's easier to remove the splash shield without removing the door. |

You can also stand on your head, and act like a contortionist and take a long extension or 2 with a deep well socket and a universal joint and go up between the fender and door. Not the easiest but it can be done. Rick |

I believe you. I tried getting about 3.5 feet of extentions on the ratchet that way the ratchet is down below the fender between the door and the series of extensions can bend. |
