Just thought I would post some pics of what I'm doing next week. We are going to paint the end of this month. The body will be a flat vanilla and the roof will be gold flaked. This is my daily driver rain, sun, snow and I have a set of snow chains under the seat to prove it. Currently is is bagged with a crappy firestone kit (previous owner). I will be pulling that out and installing a 4 link kit with bags. The motor is 60 over with a Clifford (I know, I know) 268 cam, reconditioned rods, hogged out head, intake and headers, HEI, GM one wire alt, the 3 on the tree 745 is getting pulled and a OD 4 speed is going in.

Here is a link to the build thread...

Interesting adapters to that triple SU intake. Where did you get them?

I knew you would like it! I was going to flake the motor but I wanted to drop it in this week so I painted it Caddy gold.Just wait till you see it and the truck in person after we go to paint! Sometime after the end of this month it should be painted and flaked and we are getting Nikkis 66 painted around Christmas time.

Got it from a guy that lives a few miles from me and it came with the Cannon adapters. I still need to machine some wedged spacers for the Cannon adapters so the sit level.

Holy crap! This thing runs great! It runs good, idles, good, revs good and shifts good. I have no complaints other than it is a little quieter than the old cam.

New motor is...

225 60 over 20/30 mains/rods
Clifford 268 cam
Stock head ported
Offy 4bbl intake with the runners matched to the head
Shorty headers also matched to the head
Eddy 500cfm dropped down to 400cfm with parts from a Carter 400 from a Buick.
Re conditioned rods
Rebuilt OD 4 speed cast iron case
New 10" clutch
3.23 open gears.
HEI ignition.

The 4 link and new bags didn't go in as planned right now but they will be going in soon.

Just dropped the truck off for paint! It will be flat vanilla with a gold flaked roof and later a buddy will lay down a panel job with lace inserts on the roof and tailgate.

Not quite. We are going sort of 60's show custom/lowrider with it. When done the interior will be all tuck and roll gold and white metal flake vinyl.

Even after paint it will be may daily driver (until the 56 olds is back on he road) rain or shine! They were daily drivers when new and there is no reason what so ever why they can't be daily drivers now! No one will ever be able to say that I don't drive my cars!

Image

In the shop getting ready for paint! young Juan is busting his ass doing the body work! The 2 people I tip in this world are my tattoo artist and the shop "skid" (stupid kid) and this kid will be getting one hell of a tip!
