What's the torque on oil pan bolts? I tried 18ftlbs like I did timing cover, but the cork seems to buldge too much... :/ |

According to '78 manual, Oil pan screw: 200 in.-lbs Olaf. Hope he silicone waited... ![]() |

Ha I just torqued to 10ft for now, gasket is buldging a bit but bolt didst feel very tight |

went all the way to 17ftlbs, if thats what the book calls, then thats good enough for me. kinda crazy to watch the cork squish though, i never remember any of the chevy motors squish so much |

I double checked, but that's what the book said, same data for V8s too. Have you checked out Doc's article oil-pan-seal.htm? See also this thread for some useful general info I have a bad feeling about this timing cover leak.. Olaf. |
