I have a 1965 Dodge D100 with a slant six. I want the correct name brand and part number of the very best cartridge oil filter to use in my truck. Can anyone supply this information, and where I can buy this filter? Thanks,
Gerry

Wix 51773. Here is one installed on the slant in my brother's van. It might be overkill though.

The 51515 wix filter has the same flow ratings as the 51773 and has a 21 micron rating and the 51773 has a 32 micron rating. my $.02 worth

Yeah, but the 51773 is just so BIG! Seriously, the Napa Gold 1515 or Wix 51515 is the better filter, not only because it will fit better but it filters finer particles.

The OP didn't ask about spin-on filters such as the 1773 or 1515/51515. He asked about replacement cartridges for the can-and-lid style replaceable-element oil filter.
