slant 6 oil level & manual?

Post subject:  slant 6 oil level & manual?
so, i had a bit of a debate with a friend of mine regarding oil level measuring with the said engine, or rather wether it should be done when engine is warm or cold :lol:
-i somehow recall reading about it either in a 75 dart owners manual or slant 6 manual, i just dont remember which was it and I dont have any sort of manual or source at hand where I could check that out.

anyone happen to have links to either or any other official source?
i did find one manual a few months back online and had a link to it but I cleaned the browser the other day and lost it.

Hot or cold doesn't matter. What matters is that the car is parked on reasonably level ground and the engine has been stopped for at least a couple of minutes before the level is checked.

I already know that it doesnt :lol: -but my friend insists that it has to be done while cold so i thought i'd show him what it says in the manual.
I suppose any manual of any car that contradicts that would do but I was hoping for the one about the slant 6 cause I somehow remember it saying , if my memory doesnt fail me, something about checking it while the engine was warm.

long story short I know this all doesnt really matter but sometimes it just annoys me how some people always insist that they are absolutely correct and infallible :lol:
proving the bastard wrong atleast partially would have been fun, if i had any source.

The automatic transmission must be checked warm,and idling in neutral. Maybe thats what you're thinking of.

Well it could make sense that you might want to check it cold as all of the oil would be settled in the pan...but it does not matter as Dan mentioned as well.
