This may be a dumb question, but I claim to be a 4-speed guy. But when you adjust the pressure on the 904 transmission how do you know where you are at pressure wise? Do you check it 1st and then drop the pan and adjust the allen screw to the "supposed" amount of turns? Then re-assemble and check again? Just wondering. The transmission manuals on the FAQ page would not open for me.

Thanks,

Yes, that is the correct process but the key here is having a oil pressure gauge that reads up into the 200 to 250 psi range.
(a 904's main line pressure is 155 to 165 psi)

Most just give the screw an extra turn or two. (counter-clockwise rotation will increase the main line pressure)
Each turn of the adjustment screw gives you about 10 psi of change.
