For those of you good at deciphering the rule book.

Nostalgia Dragster: Transmission - Two forward gears. That limits the transmission choice to Power Glide, right? Or am I missing something?

NHRA Nostalgia Dragster is a specific competition eliminator class that typically run in the 7s. I would guess you are planning on doing this more for fun and hopefully to run with some similiar cars, like at Woodburn and Medford. There are various associations around the country that run nostalgia programs, some of them loosely structured and some of which have their own specific rules.

You do want to pay attention to the NHRA rule book as they are the gold standard for safety and you want to make sure you can pass tech at their tracks. Look at the rules for E econo dragster and dragsters run as bracket cars for how to build but don't worry so much about all the specific class limitations. If you want to run alcohol that is permitted in a bracket dragster. Some of the members on the board probably have more information about those nostalgia associations.

I got it straightened out now. What I heard on Saturday wasn't what the chassis guy was talking about. There are cars running Woodburn that I'll be able to go out and play with.

Thanks for the input! It clarifies what Gary told me on the phone today.

The Hooligans also told me to build it like I wanted, and go have fun!
