Post subject:  Small tube from carb to manifold

Good day, my friend is working on my 68 Dart 225 . It is completely original, the tube from the carb to the manifold which appears to be about 5/16'' is corroded away. Is there any service manual illustrations or photos available here? Apparently 69 and up are different, his manual is a 69. He was asking if they where produced with a pinch in them to restrict vacum?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Derek

That's a carburetor anti-ice system described here (and in your friend's '69 manual). It's ordinary 1/4" steel tubing and can be re-made if desired from regular (non plastic coated) brake line tube stock. If your local gasoline contains alcohol during the winter -- much of it does; generally this is a province-by-province/state-by-state thing -- then the anti-ice system is unneeded and you can simply connect a piece of vacuum hose between the nipple on the underside of the air cleaner base and the nipple at the carburetor base.

Tune-up parts and technique suggestions in this thread. Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download.
