I know it's a dumb question, but where ought it be? I'm thinking, on a 1986 D100, it should be under the passenger floorboard. I looked at said truck, and I didn't see a cat in that location; I know the hot ticket these days on late model cars is to locate inside the manifold, or as close as possible to the engine. Not being familiar with how Chrysler did, well, I'm wondering if I overlooked it. I was expecting right under the floorboard. I was in a rush, and didn't look under the hood as much as I wanted to (peered under the truck, looking first for rust, then ran out of time). Thanks. |

The '86 D100 had two. First one was called a pre-convertor located right off the manifold, the regular convertor was downstream under the passenger footwell. |

Ah, thanks. I figured there should be a big fat one under the passenger floorboard; did not know about the one on the manifold. I'd pick up an FSM but I'm not sure what changes between the years--probably should just get one, it'll be close enough. Thanks again. |
