I've got a 66 Coronet with a 904 trans that makes a loud knocking noise. The sound seems to be coming from the inspection hole in the front of the transmission where the torque converter is located. The noise is loudest in Drive and Neutral. It is less noticable in Reverse and almost nothing in Park. The fluid got kinda low but is currently topped off. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Kind of sounds like one of the flex plate to convertor bolts is a bit loose...
