With no luck in my area. Dealerships don't have parts that old, my corner shop can't get 'em, and the junkyards here are barren of old mopars. Any suggestions? My adapter is cracked, and while I'm at it I was looking to replace the whole assembly, including pinion. |

How many tooth pinion do you need? I'll be at my shop tomorrow and Sunday. I'm sure I have a dozen housings and pinions laying around. |

It's a 31 tooth. I'm assuming my parts are original, and I have the red adapter and green plastic pinion. I should ask now what price you would be looking at as there is a used one on ebay for $20 (which includes a 27 tooth pinion) that ends in a day. Not really the sure the pinion needs replacing, but it seems the pinion oil seal does... as well as the large O-ring (orange). Just lemme know if you think I should pull the trigger on the ebay item. And THANKS so much! |

I'll send ya mine for the cost of shipping. It will be tomorrow before I can check for sure though. I know I have 2 904's sitting on the floor with pinions in them. |

OK, I have housings but no 31 tooth pinions. I have 29, 32, and 33. I also forgot the housing at the shop when I left tonight. I had 2 laid out and left them both. I may go back down tomorrow, but more likely Monday. Lemme know what pinion you want. I also called my trans guy to see if he has a 31. They are color codded besides being numbered, what color is yours? |

You guys are awesome! The 31 tooth is green, and the adapter is red. Why don't both of you send me a PM with how you would like your money. I have paypal and that would be easiest, but can send money by snail mail if you wish. Thanks so much! |

Just to be sure, the adapter you are talking about is the round aluminum housing that the pinion goes through, correct? Mine are all bare aluminum, I'm guessing your is painted? |

Hate to be a wet blanket, but if he needs one for a mid 70s-up car (the '80 in the pic?) It will be the all plastic adapter thats molded to the cable. |

That's what I'm trying to find out. I want to make sure we're talking about the same thing. |

Sorry, no. The adapter I need is the plastic one that actually attaches to the outside of the trans. It has a hole for the speedo cable to go through. I guess it's my mistake, it should probably be referred to as the housing as seen here: http://www.transmissioncenter.net/speed ... ____va.htm If you click on Dodge and Jeep you will see it the 6th item down. I'm sorry for my lack of proper identification. |

Sorry for all the mess, but after seeing a picture of what you want I do not have any of that kind. Mine are all for the screw on type cable. I hate to say it, but I have never seen one of the plastic ones. That is a cool site for parts and info. |
