Post subject:  Hella Center Brake Light Application Over Rear Defrost Grid

Can the Hella Center 3rd Brake Light that adheres to a back window be placed over a retrofit defroster grid? Has anyone tried this?

Dan Sterns lighting website links don't seem to work to get this answer or purchase this item?

Dan Stern is right here. I get dozens of emails a day from the site, but it sounds like it's not working for you; what happens when you try to click a "Mail me?" link?

There is no problem installing the Hella central brake light kit over OE or retrofit defogger grid lines.

The site I'm visiting is www.danielsternlighting.com and the link says "E-mail me your query"

The pop up says "could not perform the operation because the default mail client is not properly installed"

Haven't seen that occur with any other link...ever.

Weird. There's nothing unusual about the code for the mail link, it's a perfectly ordinary, standard HTML mailto link. It sounds like an issue with your email program. In any event, send the mail to me manually: tech@danielsternlighting.com .

See picture of the installation steps & comparision between brakelight intensities at night & during the day.

The Hella brakelight is assembled at the factory with the wiring coming out the top.....I disassembled the Hella & rerouted the wire internally so that it came out the bottom........ it was less visible & neatly dropped straight into the trunk.
