Hello men I was removing the intake/exhaust manifold from my 83 B150 van. I got to the fourth or fith nut from the flywheel when coolant sqirted out all over the place. I think its a cracked water jacket?? |

Sounds to me as if one of the manifold studs backed out with the nut you were removing. Some or all of those stud holes (depending on head casting) back up onto water passages. |

Thanks for the reply slant six Dan That makes sense. I have had this van for about 5 years and I have just started to learn more about her, meaning she is at the end of her wear cycle and its time to rebuild her! So when I get the manifolds off should I use a little blue locktite on the studs that came out? Is there a stainless stud/bolt kit available? Thanks |
