Wellnow.

Remember this?

Well, it looks as if it's about to show up again.

Anyone on here know anything about S. Magnante's involvement?

Resurfacing an aluminum head should be no different than resurfacing an iron head, Attention to chamber sizes is neccessary to prevent preignition.

Speeds and feeds can be higher with Aluminum, but surface finish can suffer.

Although an aluminum head is significantly lighter than an iron head I doubt if one ever surfaced never mind resurfaced.

The aluminum head would prove to be more corrosion resistant in any testing done in liquids with high oxygen content......but it still wont float.

Snork, indeed! I was wondering who'd "bite" on the deliberate <subject> choice I made for this thread.

Yep -- I posted it, then thought I'd better send around some PMs in case I had accidentally stumbled into a hush-hush area of discussion. Once it became clear that I have not, I reposted.

Did Magnate have another aluminum head besides the one that went down under?

Did he sweet talk Doug out of one of his?

Has one of the "unaccounted for" heads resurfaced?

Enquiring minds wanna know.

Everytime I hear of an aluminum slant head I get my hopes up...then they are shattered again and again  I remember a few years ago it seemed like something might actually happen, then I never heard of it again.Maybe one day...Even a high performance cast iron head would be cool!

There are some prototype factory aluminum heads floating around. The numbers I've heard are between 4 and 7 made with 3 verified still in existence. :?
