Someone has actually done this! This is serious. I touched it and took a couple pictures with my cell phone! No, it isn't going to be in the Edlebrock catalog anytime soon. This is a one off, custom deal whittled out of a solid block of billet aluminum by one of our fellow Slant 6 racers using a CNC machine. Flow numbers are a secret that he wouldn't share with me, but this head is 90% complete and bolted to a Slant 6 block along with the custom intake and header. Plans are to have the completed engine on a dyno and then on a dragstrip early this season. I'll post the "spy shots" he let me take shortly. |

I'm no machinist, but how did he manage the water passages if it's machined from a solid block? Surely he must have cast them in before milling the exterior/ports/etc... |

Haha yeah I've seen machines like that in action... still seems amazing that the internal concave passages (with such small openings) could be done that way too! |

You can also drill long intersecting passages from outside, then put in expansion or NPT plugs to seal up the water jacket. Skeptical and not at all excited yet... Lou |

From the initial text, the head will be used on a drag race engine so I doubt that water jackets are part of the design. Over in the (big) Ford inline camp, they have a VERY EXPENSIVE billet head that comes from Allen Johnson and it is solid billet with no jackets and exclusively for (comp class) drag racing. |

When its proven it can beat a Jefferies head and make over 300 sub 12 second passes without issues,I would bee interested,or if a car with his aluminum head takes away any of my records...BIG ports dont get no records.Good combos do.Mikes head and advice got me mine. And his.Mark |
