ordered a set of Precision Super Strength drive shaft universals through RockAuto,, pleasantly surprised when the Precision box that they came in was also marked Federal Mogul and made in the USA |

Sometimes with the precision 246 U joints I find that they are a snug fit on the bearing cap retainer rings (which is a good thing..) sometimes you need to file a bit on the inner part of the driveshaft ears (not on the circular part that you press the bearing caps through, but on the 2 1/8 dimension ) to get the bearing cup retaining rings to fit /seat correctly. Greg the Precision 246's I bought are for the 83 D-150,, are you saying the 246 also fits A body drive shafts? |

Probably a 7260 joint John. For the most part Mopar has only used 3. 7260, 7290, and 1350. Somewhere online there is a page with all the cross-over numbers. I used to have it bookmarked, but lost it. Greg, Precision is about the only joint I ever had to do that with. Their dimensions seem just a tick off. |
