I'm looking to recover my front fixed non-split and rear bench seats and haven't come across any suppliers. Year One (Legendary) doesn't list any. There used to be an eBay seller that could make them to order, but I don't see him on there now. I wasn't in the market at the time unfortunately. Any suggestions? Are the 4dr rears the same as 2dr? Thanks

You won't find them ready-made. If you want to restore the original upholstery, buy NOS correct material from SMS Auto Interiors.

Funny isn't it? five times as many cars were made with the solid bench seats as opposed to cars with the split bench or the bucket seats, but no one makes the custom covers for them.

That's because everybody trashes out the sedans to build yet more orange or blue Swingers with black interiors *snooze*

Yeah, I want to see a 1969 Dart Swinger painted Panther Pink with the blue and green Mod Top and mod upholstery. I'm tired of B5 blue.

phogroian - you bring up a huge issue I have had with the classic car industry since I got my first car ('66 Tempest OHC-6 4-dr) way back when. While there are some great reproduction of interior soft parts, I think it's still a neglected sector with not a huge variety. 4 doors were arguably taken care of better for reasons we all know, but what do I mostly see in the local pull apart as far as classic iron? Rust-free-solid-floor-complete-trim-intact-glass-motor-that-looks-like-it-could-still-run-with-a-ripped-ratted-out-interior 4 doors (Furys, Valiants, Darts, Ramblers, Impalas, LTDs, Tempests, Eighty-Eights, on and on...) is what. That's a sad state if interior parts availability is a dominant reason for the 4-doors getting junked or parted out. I mean it's essentially the smaller door panels and front bench that's different. Really? As far as wear and tear is concerned, soft parts are some of the first to crap out. It should be a category in the restoration biz that has better development. I don't think the industry can survive indefinitely on clones and two-doors alone (yaawn - Dan, that's contagious or the oxygen level is low here, too).

That being said, as Dan has suggested, I may go the diy route. I ordered swatches from DIY Upholstery online before you mentioned SMS. What is the name (original and modern equivalent) of the vinyl grain?

I did a Volare' Station wagon using a bench seat cover for a pickup truck.
Thinking that it would be too big, it wasn't and fit well enough. Around $30 at the local Pep Boys

Dan da man! Been looking at the SMS site. Awesome resource (if you think interiors are "awesome"). I didn't realize there are two different grains in my Dart until the site showed them. Then I went and took a closer look. Thanks
