Well last night I snagged a Carter rebuild kit of Ebay, and today I went to the junkyard to track down a carb. Dude there said they had a Carter, but it turned out to be a Holley Am I correct in assuming that I'll need a Holley kit instead of the Carter? |

It's for the '67-'71 (at least I think those are its years. I know it'll work in the '70 Dart Swinger I'm working on).If I can get that Holley in decent shape I'll put it in and then rebuild the Carter that's in there now and box it up as a spare, just in case of troubles. |

Why not just rebuild the Carter that's on it now? It only takes a couple of hours. Carters are easy carbs to rebuild. |

Long story short, her mother's a dim bulb and freaked out when she told her it needed rebuilding. Said it should only be touched by a licensed, professional mechanic (hey lady, just because you don't know jack about it doesn't mean other people are as ignorant). So I plan on rebuilding this junker and putting it on there. That way the Carter isn't being rebuilt, just like what she wanted Needless to say, there's a long standing bitterness between her mother and myself... Only problem is that this junker Holley has what looks like a different throttle linkage, so I'll have to figure out how to get it to work in the Dart. |
