Anyone have a good recommendation on an inexpensive tubing beader for 5/16" metal fuel line? I can find one for 3/8", but the internet search shows that one for 5/16" is $129.... Thanks for the recommendation, -D.Idiot |

Tubing Bender I got...tubing beader is what I need... it's a tool that adds a 'bump'/ridge/bead/'barb' to the metal fuel line so it doesn't slip off if using a hose clamp... I know that Earl's makes one for most V-8 sized lines... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EAR-008ERL/ but am looking for one for slant six sized fuel lines.... Thanks, -D.Idiot |

Got a double flare tool? If you don't complete the double flare, you have a nice bump on the end so the hose doesn't slip off........ |

timly post as tubeing benders and flair tools was what I was just starting to look for. for the benders shown,, will they pull compact enough bends to re produce the short fuel line shown? http://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@N ... 120223267/ for the beaders mentioned,, any brands / styles that are recommended? I am looking for ones that will do the ends on the fuel lines.. thanks |

John for a bend that tight you are better off with the spring types that fit over the line. A bend that short will usually collapse where it is held by the bender. |

I got a few spring style benders with the tools in my dad's estate years ago,, but I never used them, I'll look around and dig them out. |

Swagelock makes some premium benders(Not cheap) that I use at work for bending 3/8 SS tubing. They work great and don't kink even with hard SS tubing. The problem with getting that short of a tube is that the nut usually gets in the way of the shoe as it comes around. Rick |

I've used benders like the ones linked to earlier in this thread to put a bend close to the end like the picture. What I do is put the nut end under the hook and bend away from it. Or you could do the bend then do the flair. Nuttyprof |

there are also some plier type benders, they will let really tights bends and dont let the nut get in the way. Lisle makes some |
