| Post subject: | Any /6 plug wire looms? |
I cant seem to find someone that sells spark plug wire looms that are made for a slant six.. Is there anyone running some that are pretty cool looking that bolt to the valve cover? I want to keep that passenger side of the engine looking clean and tidy  If anyone has some I'd like to know where to get em.. Thanks! |

Most slant six plug wire sets I have ever bought have three pairs of three different length plug wires. The really expensive sets have six different length wires, but most have the three pairs of three different lengths. I have found that if I install the plug wires in the 1-5-3-6-2-4 firing order and use the lengths of plug wire in the following order long-medium-short-long-medium-short, the plug wires arrange into a tidy and pleasant to look at rounded assembly. Not all sloppy and messy like a v engine, but happy and curved and neat. That would be long plug wires on 1 and 6, medium plug wires on 5 and 2, and short plug wires on 3 and 4. No plug wire looms necessary. |

Running two or more plug wires in parallel, close to each other, is an excellent recipe for induction crossfire. |

Thats why I was asking because I have some really long plug wires on it right now, I need to shorten them up.. Right now they're all over eachother and I've heard that can be bad, plus it looks sloppy and I try to keep the engine looking nice.. was wondering if looms would be good but I think I'll just trim the wires down after all.. |

Dustman, Click on the red link below my name and take a look at my plug wires......there is no way i could use a loom. They are about as short as you can make them. |

I put sections of the split plastic wiring loom over the plug wires where they rub against anything so that it wears rather than the plug wire....... |

Looks nice and clean. I do think that the #3 and 4 wires are on backwards. The boot should be on the head side to cover the "drool tube" opening. Or maybe slid down the wire to the correct location. Mike |

I've seen others do that. It keeps the wires apart somewhat. The split plastic tubing also keeps the wire from touching the metal fender. Sam |
