Has anyone ever bought one of these? I was looking on rockauto for a cap under a 77 Volare and it listed this

UNITED IGNITION WIRE Part # CC611X Blue Brass, Premium Quality

but no picture. I can't find a picture of it anywhere either. Is this the same as the Standard CH-410X?

Sounds similar. If it's affordable, order one and give us your assessment of its quality, country of origin, etc.

I ordered it last night along with a few other things so I'll send back a review once I get it.

Sorry for the delay. I went through the whole purchasing process and for some reason it never went through, so I had to reorder it a week later.

Looks like the real deal. It's heavier than any other cap I've had. Made in the USA....company is called United and there's a bald eagle on the box. Doesn't get any more American than that :D

They're based out of Cleveland and they have two lines. Permashield and Premium. I'm going to start buying their Premium stuff whenever I can from now on.

That is an almost exact dead ringer for the old BlueStreak CH-403X, in that it is compression-moulded out of blue phenolic (the Standard/BlueStreak CH410X is injection-moulded of thermoplastic). This United cap has a vent, while the CH-403X did not.

I'll see if the United people can be sweet-talked into making us a nice long-tip rotor now that Echlin have (again) discontinued the MO-3000.

Yep This is the Preimum Stuff I bought recently from rock auto - - I just wish the Rotor was of the "fatter Design" instead of the small Thing design..

I am talking about the Width / Girth of the plastic body of the rotor not the brass parts.

Why do you want the fatter body? I haven't run into a situation in which it makes any difference.

I just picked up another long tip rotor on Thursday at NAPA. They told me it was still a good number, but that was the only one in the local warehouse.

Probably because they look cheap?

I have an MO-3000 rotor and I put it on a spare distributor with the blue United cap and I couldn't turn the rotor all the way around. It seemed to catch on two of the posts and wouldn't make a complete 360. Anyone ever have this problem with the old standard-blustreak cap? I didn't put the rotor in my car because I figured it would tear up the distributor if I cranked it over.
