What do you guys think of this turbo: Compressor Specs: -GT35R 61mm compressor wheel -0.70AR T04S compressor housing - Flow Rate 65lb/min Turbine Specifications: -P Trim turbine wheel -0.63 or 0.82 A/R. turbine housing available -4 bolt standard turbine discharge CHRA Specifications: -360 degree thrust bearing standard. -Oil cooled&lubricated center section. Is it too much to start with on a stock 225 in an 87 D100 with a 833od and 3.55's. I also have a holley 650 DP with mechanical secondaries that I could use. Have a chance to trade some work for this turbo, and thinking about going for it. |

I just bought one very close to that and it should work well on a stock 225. Smaller than the T60-1 I have on the '68 Dart, which is a bit oversize for a street car. Make sure it is a name brand turbo and not a knockoff... It should have Garrett cast into the compressor and/or turbine housings. Lou |

I agree, a pretty good choice for a street build. I chose its big brother the GT40-82 out of a catalog based on its turbo map. When I opened the box, my first reaction was "What did I get myself into?" The turbo was the size of a basketball. A GT35 would be a saner choice - as Lou mentioned, though, there's a lot of knock-offs, so be sure you have the real deal. |

Thanks guys, I will get with him and make sure its the real deal. He says its a honeywell/garrett from the 80's in good shape with no shaft play, but we shall see. |

That's a bit of a red flag - I don't believe the GT35R was invented until the late '90s at the earliest!

He bought it from someone else,so he might be mixed up. Maybe I should just walk away from this deal,as I have a pretty limited knowledge of turbos. The only turbo car I dealt with was my SRT-4 and I bought my 50 trim new,so there were no doubts to what it was. |

If it doesn't have the little ID plate with model and serial numbers from Garrett, then be very careful. You should be able to look up those numbers online, which is what I did. I wonder if it's just a Buick GN turbo? Internal wastegate? That would be a Garett from the late 80s. So much bull!@#$ out there... Lou |

I havent personally seen it yet, just going off of what he says. I want to make sure that it is what he thinks it is,because the amount of work I would be trading is HUGE. I will go over there and look at it,and report back. |
