Post subject:  Ongoing problem with reman. Holley 1920 carbs

Since joining this Forum I've been through 3 Holley model 1920 carbs.
This last one apparently has parts inside that are missing !!
I pulled it and gave it to a old school mopar mechanic and had him take it apart to see what the problem is this time.
The 1 bbl is (was) on my sons 64 Dart w/ a 225.
It wouldn't start unless I primed the carb w/ approx. 1 oz. of gas straight into the throat.
After that it would run fine.

In the meantime we've ordered another reman. and have to wait to see if one is available.

Can I go with a Carter 1 bbl. on the same intake ?
The throttle linkage is orginal and correct for the year, (pre-cable set up).
It does have the choke coil on the intake as well........
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can put on a Carter, but as long as you keep putting on "remanufactured" carburetors, you're going to keep having problems. They're trash. See thread on the topic linked from the post here.

I am pretty sure I'm out of new carburetors to fit your '64 right now, but send me a PM and I'll see what I can find.
