So I'll be pulling the 170, block casting ending in "230", out of my new Valiant tonight an replacing it with the 225 from my old one, before I dump everything in the scrap bin is then anything worth saving? I need the tin because the stuff on the 225 is bad from the wreck. I'm going to use the distributor until I get around to swapping the electric stuff. I figure I'd grab the cylinder head and do a home port job and have it milled at the machine shop and swap it around later. Anything else worth saving? I hate letting good stuff go to waste. |

Somebody's going to want that 170 to build a high-revving race motor or a gas-sipping EFI or propane street motor… |

As Dan said, pretty much everything in the bottom end... Block, crank, rods, are all wanted, please don't scrap any of it. Give or sell any of the stuff you don't want to one of the forum members, I'm sure most/all of it could go to good use on someone else's car. |

I have no problem giving it away but I can't have it sitting around the garage forever. I'm already short on room! I tried to give away an HP 383 shortblock from a '69 Road Runner on C-list and several Mopar message boards a few years back and no one actually came in two weeks and so I ended up scrapping it. I can't imagine a 170 cube slant six shortblock being much easier to give away. I'll post a freebie ad in the classifieds. |

I would take it but it would be a long drive from up here in Canada, and I'm on the east coast to boot. |
