Guys I need to know which one of these books contain the tourqe specs and clearances for the Aluminum Six. I've gotten burned by the General as GM seen fit in some years to 'supplement' previous year models. Like 62 F85 scribble. It's all for further info please refer to the 1961 Cutlass service manual. So, please help. These manuals are $50 at a time to find the correct info. Thanks |

The 63 service manual has the aluminum slant in it. If you would like I will scan and email the pages specific to the aluminum engine. Brian |

Guys Bought a $25 Plymouth 63 car manual, shows engine pages and in big bold letters after slant six it says aluminum six. Otw at book rate. PoP! Single ballon falls, 3 pieces of confetti. Thanks for the attention tho. I'm sure someone would have come through, this gives me both. As I am planning out the stages of rebuild and seeing if it's possible to cut the deck as low as a 170. Got a block with a hole that can be patched, but little more than that, as the previous owner sealed the deal on going with an 80's lightened nodular iron cast crank. Thus no 170 crank. No oil pressure to the lifters either. Drilled to see how much metal was there. But I got more motors to work with because I knew I'd need a pig. To test on. These AL SL6 blocks don't grow on trees. I don't remember who gave me that tip about the guy ( turned out to be a kid) in St. Paul. I got him to come waaaaaaaaay off his $1500 price tag. Poor kid got victimized by a old Mopar guy with a big beard who told him all this junk he bought was worth it's weight in gold. Like a son-o-ramic motor without manifolds. Or a 426 wedge only missing the rotating assembly. A block with heads. I'd be embarrassed and ashamed to sell anyone that. But the recession was in full swing and he probably got him with the if it doesn't sell it's going for scrap. Yeah right. |
