On my 1966 225 slant six, my power steering pump is leaking and I wanted to pick one up, with or without reservoir. I've tried to buy a Cardone one from two places, and both times they said they did not actually carry them anymore. Apparently they are no longer made? Anyone know where I can get a pump? Is there no other pump (for even another model) that would fit my engine? Is my only option to find one at a swap meet or have it rebuilt by Rock Auto?

If you can find a seal kit there really isn't much to rebuilding one.

Is that different than a rebuild?

A "rebuild" is the common "slang term" for a used pump that has been rebuilt.
Trouble is, there are all kinds of different quality levels of rebuilding services, ranging from simple cleaning and re-painting of a "core unit, then all the way to a unit that has been completely dis-assembly, had careful component inspection, replacement or repair of all worn components, all new seals and "soft parts", then final testing.
Todays "rebuilt units" usually fall in-between those 2 examples but more tend to be towards the "clean & repaint" end of the spectrum.

So the suggestion here: If your current PS Pump is working OK but has a front seal leak, then buy a reseal kit ($15 -25.00 on ebag) and just replace the front seal... and keep on driving.

Pump doesn't leak... the hoses do... lol

If it is a Saginaw pump, they are surprisingly easy to rebuild and the kits are cheap.

I don't believe that they used the saginaw pumps in '65, but I could definitely be wrong about that, and it wouldn't be the first time.
