Guys

I was wondering if one of the older guys could take me to school on the older head design. Why did they drop the aluminum tube to the spark plug & make the business end of the wire seal it up?
I just got my 63 Plymouth service manual, and am reading up on the special techniques. Like no dechamfering of the cylinder liners.

Thanks.

The wire set I got for it goes onto the plug and has a rubber collar that stops flat at the top of the hole.

O ring?

As I understand the the collar on the spark plug wire is just to keep dust and water out. No way is that rubber going to keep your oil in.
Also, without the tube around the plug, your spark plugs and plug wire are going to be covered with hot oil.
Use the tubes on any early slant six.

Rlklaus : thanks. Kinda what I was thinking

CNC dude: I can't figure out how, I have been on an iPhone for almost a year and so I'd have to get to a working computer and as I understand it or the way it reads the site will only post links to an online album.

Which I don't have. It is a Mopar set from the 70's red wires white box Chrysler pentastar. eBay purchase.
