Like a Jeep with the top down, you know, leaks air, water, wind noise etc.You don't see them too often but one is in my hometown that I see once in a while. Something different for sure.

There are a few around Maine that I see at car shows. When those things came out I wanted one… I never got it though, but still like them.

There is a fellow a few towns from here that is restoring one. He is having a hard time finding parts as there are a lot of one year only, and one offs such as doors specific to the ragtop. If you find one you want, make sure it has all its parts. Chances are good you may not be able to properly restore an incomplete truck, because those that have parts know their value, and are reluctant to let them go.

There are 3 on ebay right now. Reminds me of the old international scouts.

I have one. It's an 89 sport white with black top and a 4x4 auto. I'm the third owner, and I've owned it ten years.

I will take a picture and post it later. The 89 convertible trucks only came in Red, Black, Blue and White. They could have a white or black top. With red interior. A 89 with lots of extras was very pricy new. Mine sticker-ed for a little less than $22,xxx. A v-8 4x4 Ram was $18,000 in 1989. In 1990 the convertible trucks lacked the extras, I.E. sport package,4x4, A/C,power windows. This was to lower the over all price. In 90 you could get bucket seats, the 89's were bench. I think the exterior colors were the same in 90, with gray as the interior color. There were more 89's made than 90's. On 12-10-1992 G.M. Payne of Chrysler Senior Staff noted the production numbers for convertible dakotas @ 1989-2842 and @1990-909. No breakdown of options.

Facebook has a dakota convertible members page.

That is truly pretty awesome. I think if I had known they existed, I would have gone out of my way to buy one. This brings to mind the old joke that pickup trucks are really Redneck convertibles. There, you have it all now. The driver and the passengers in back can get some sun.

Mary and I drove one thrusday.top down.it is a convertible in all ways.
5 speed 197K miles overpriced. seller would not lower his price .
Mary walked..

for a 2nd vehicle I think it's a good item, if it's in your budget.
