How do you get the rust stains out of the screw holes of the backup light lenses?

I was thinking The Works toilet cleaner, but lacked the patience to leave the lenses off the car long enough to see the effect over time.

Wink, it’s a brown bottle found in the laundry soap section. A few drops on a Q-Tip applied to rust will dissolve the brown. CLR or other rust & lime removers will work as well, but Wink comes in small bottle, and is cheap.

A simple, cheap and effective rust remover is a mixture of white vinegar and lemon juice. It works on even heavily rusted parts. I use about one part lemon juice to three parts vinegar. Not sure if that's the most effective ratio, but it works for me
