After replacing the sagging passenger’s side engine mount and changing the slant of things, the front header is hitting on the adjustment bolt on top of the power steering gear when engine is idled down to a lope. There looks to be a good bit of deformation of the driver’s side engine mount during lope conditions, but no sag or cracks. Hopefully the new mount will firm things up, and lift engine just enough to get headers free of power steering gear.

Offending runner has a nice dimple installed at the point of interference.

Anyone have experience with Clifford shorty headers, power steering, and fresh mounts?

Clifford shorty headers will not fit (out of the box)a 66 older "A" body, 225 engine with power steering. On 67 or later they should work if the mounts are good. If you still have a problem, you could put a shim between the insulator (mount) and the "K" frame. The Clifford headers will not fit any year "A" body with a 170 engine, without mods.

Car is a 67, 225, clanking is most noticeable when backing out of garage, once in drive barely a clunk is heard, and once engine climes out of low rpm lope, no contact is made with header and steering gear.

New mount is on the way, hopefully I won't need a shim.
