OK here is a question (actually on a Dodge 318), how do I set the timing if I can not find a timing mark on the harmonic balancer?

Is it possible that the timing is so far off that I am not seeing the mark?

I was afraid of that.

Guess I will order up a new one. Luckily the engine is late model so it is easy to find parts.

It also could have jumped time because of worn timing set.

Well it turns out that my wires are not in the right positions. Problem is I can not identify number one on the distributor. I am going to have to try get the motor to TDC (always an iffy task) and go from there.
