Post subject: | Oil Pan Removal |
Is it possible to remove an oil pan from a 76 Aspen Sedan with the motor still in the car? I have a guy coming to buy the pan tomorrow, and I cannot possibly have the motor pulled by then. I was hoping to be able to yank the pan as is without the extraction, otherwise I need to make a call. Any ideas? |

Yes, it can be done but it will take you about the same amount of time as it will, to pull the engine. DD |

I figured as much. I've got some work to do, then! |

The oil pickup goes all the way down to the bottom of the pan so it's difficult to get by that. But if you just loosen the engine mounts and lift the engine up a few inches at the front you might be able to get it out. But on the other hand, it does not take much time to get the engine out if you leave the tranny on the engine and just lift out the hole package. |

I just decided to bite the bullet and pull it. It should be out this evening. Thanks for the input, guys! |
