Good Day All,I have searched but cannot find a photo or answer as to which gasket goes where on the 8 3/4. I have the foam and the material with the metal ring. Book only says gasket and isn't very clear pic wise. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks & have a Great day!!

The foam gaskets go between the backing plates & housing.
The metal gaskets between the axle & backing plates.

Presonally, I never use the foam gasket on an 8 3/4 because they are "single use" and "done" after the first gear swap.
Instead, I use 2 of the embossed steel gaskets, per side, at the locations discribed above.

Thanks Doc I kind of wondered how good they really were. I'm not planning on doing this again(so I say) so I'll use what I have.

I thought the foam gasket was on the outside and could be renewed when the axles were pulled, but the backing plates were left in place. That how I've been assembling mine.
