I've been running an EDIS and MegaJolt for almost a year, as well.

It looks like you use a Chrysler coil, rather than a Ford coil.

The nicest fitting wires I found for my non-tube head was to use a set of Chrysler 3.3 wires (my coil is mounted on the fender liner, close to the alternator).

I run propane, not gas. I also have issues with the engine backfiring or popping out the exhaust while starting.

yeah, probably much less depending on how much you obtain from the part yard... I got the ignition modules very cheap (~$20 IIRC..so I got several just in case, apparently theyre quite robust, so 2 would likely be enough) from the PnP closeby, including the harness that attaches to them... The best models to get a good length of harness are the exlpoeres from the mid 90's...you can look up the exact years, but they generally hav a long stretch from where the module is mounted (generally behind right headlight area) to whereever it taps into the main harness, near the firewall behind engine... takes about 5-10 mins once you do it the first time and know what youre doing...

the trigger wheel was a bit cheaper before, but thats still a fair price and the box is about what I paid for it, although it looks like theyve revamped it a bit since I purchased...so it likely has more/better features...thsoe guys over there are pretty awesome, the dude called me back on the weekend to answer my questions before I bought it...great option if you have no intention of doing fuel injection and still want full control of the spark...

I am using the chrysler coil from a '96 voyager IIRC and wires as well... ultimately I'll likely take measurements and have Magnecor make me a custom set for this thing and keep the others as spares...or possibly finish up the wasted spark CoP setup that I originally was going to do but ran out of time...They make some pretty nice coils for that and it would be an even cleaner install... I used the same alum plate I was using to mount the HEI module and coil that was installed before to mount this module and coil otherwise I likely wouldve put the coil in that location as well...

RE: the propane What are you using to meter the gas? A forklift style "carb"... this thing runs smooth with this system installed... I also upgraded to the N-D mini-starter which cranks a LOT faster than the old one... usually it'll fire immediately if its been run in the previous day or two... a few more cranks otherwise...

niceset thing is that I can update the advance curves on the fly (i.e. at a dyno if necessary) to fine tune everything... swapping springs in the dizzy was getting old...

I'm using an Impco propane carb, a CA200, which has adapters available to bolt directly to the super six manifold. Doing this with an automatic might be a pain, but the manual trans setup isn't real hard.

I'm also going to build myself a controller, microcontroller based, that will read the output of a temp sensor and a wideband o2 sensor system, and control the temperature of the vapor coming from the converter, and the air/fuel ratio, to keep it in a fixed point.

The purpose of this is to improve fuel economy. When I get done building and put in the shortblock I'm planning, I intend to raise the compression ratio from 10.5 to about 12.5 to 13 to 1, for better power and economy. Propane has an octane rating of higher than 105. You can really squeeze this stuff, but you have to have a stout ignition, then, to light it.

I also use a ND starter. The original was sounding a lot like a gear box with lots of gravel in it, and this cranks faster and quieter than the original.

Nice... I have a very similar unit for my DD ('83 300D Mercedes) that I have yet to install to add some supplemental fuel when I upgrade my turbo. (will also utilize a orifice to keep too much from being added and grenading that stout motor) I have a head in the shop for that thing and once I get it back, Ill put a new cam, I/E manifolds and VGT turbo and finally hook up to propane.
