Here's an easy one. I'm making progress on getting the turbo wagon back together. The engine is on the stand, and I'm about to put the oil pan on. This block has been sitting without oil for 5 years, but it's clean inside. Is there anything I might want to baste it with while I have it on the stand. Some folks say lithium grease, some folks say lithium grease isn't oil soluble so I shouldn't do that. Anybody recommend anything, or should I just squirt it with motor oil and hand spin it till it gets up pressure? Kip on Truckin' |

Gear oil, motor oil, or "assembly lube" would probably be best. |

For brand new engines, I use my own blend of assembly lube, brad Penn and Lucas. It's very slick and very sticky. It will never run off while sitting for years, I've checked. And I also use comp cams break in zinc additive for lifter/cam |

Isky makes an assembly compound that incorporates moly in it called "Rev Lube". It's good stuff. -D.Idiot |

Forgot to mention I use arp grease for cam and lifters, and I make sure they got a lot on them. It's just moly grease, good for cam break in |
