| Post subject: | Oil in heater core??! |
So since the motor build and installation I have been having little issues (carb, timing, and choke) but those are pretty squared away.. However today I came out and noticed a decent amount of what appears to be OIL on the passenger floor.. WTF! Looking for a source I found it leaking from the big black box next to the glove box insert. Guessing that encases the heater core? As it has a few clips and separates it seems. I also found a very small amount of coolant seeping through...... I pulled the dip stick (just toped off oil and coolant yesterday) and today I noticed oil to be a little yellow and over filled (oil was dead on Full line yesterday) and coolant in radiator a little low.. Coolant is still bright green in radiator with no signs of oil mixture.. but could it be leaking in somewhere along the head and be going through the car and heater core is leaking it inside? (I did use the heater last night while driving..) Any suggestions would be very helpful Thanks in advance |

guess this is a stumper.. Well im noticing more anti freeze than oil now so im guessing the retaining box had oil and now the heater core is leaking causing the oil to fall first.. Guess a new core is in order. |
