I am after a variable 12 volt fan heater switch for my 62' Valiant and would like to use a Mopar one from a later 60's car. I would appreciate a Mopar part number of any variable heater switch. Thanks, Peter |

There is no such switch. Various 2-, 3-, and 4-speed fan switches were used in various Mopars. The '60-'62 Valiant and Lancer have a pushbutton-operated heater with two fan speeds: high and low. There is also a hidden "fan off" mode that lets the car's forward motion ram air into the car either through the windshield ducts (in defog mode) or through the floor ducts (in heat mode) without the fan -- to access this mode, push the button you want and then gently pull it back out. What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? |

I don't have the original heater and have fitted an after market Nasco "beehive" heater. I was hoping to source an original Mopar variable switch for the heater. |

Your problem with that, Crick, is that most of them used the multi-position switch to feed the fan's power through a resistor network mounted in the air duct. The resistor network would step down the voltage to the fan, giving different speeds for different switch positions. It's not as simple as using just the fan switch......you would also need the resistor network and wire it properly. Roger |
